Uxtheme Patcher Windows
It is a patch, but i is very easy to install, you only have to run the.exe file, UXTheme MultiPatcher detects the OS you are running and it will do the rest. Since the moment you install it, you will be able to download and install any msstyle theme, with no restrictions. It supports Windows XP/SP1/SP2 and Windows Server 2003 SP1. Compatibility with this theme patcher software may vary, but will generally run fine under Microsoft Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP on either a 32-bit or 64-bit setup. A separate x64 version may be available from Manuel Hoefs.
After installing UltraUXThemePatcher 3.3.4 successfully & rebooting, there are only a few changes made to the actual theme, probably whatever can be done without the patch. I ran as administrator, took full ownership of uxinit.dll, uxtheme.dll, and themeui.dll still to no avail. This is on a fresh install, so it's quite unlikely that there would be any conflicting programs involved. Also, I've tried multiple themes (all of which support 1709) I've had success on in other setups with the same version, so I don't think there is any problem there.
- Some time back we had posted about uxtheme.dll patch for windows 7. The main aim of patching uxtheme.dll is to allow us to install third party custom themes designed for windows 7. The patching of uxtheme.dll in windows 7 is not a easy task as it involves the taking ownership of files, renaming, Backing up of files etc.

Double click on the “UXTheme Multi-Patcher 6.0” icon, you should then see the window shown below:. Click on “Patch”.

EDIT: I have just received an update from Windows for 1803. I am going to wait to see if the UltraUXThemePatcher creator releases a patch for that version and then give it a go.
